Suggest Recipe Edits
RecipeVersion lets any logged-in user propose a change to a public recipe. The recipe author reviews the suggestion and can accept or decline it — keeping the original recipe intact while allowing community input.
How it works
On any public recipe page, click Suggest Edit. Write a title for your suggestion and describe what you'd change and why. The author is notified and can review your proposal. If they accept it, the change is incorporated into a new version of the recipe.
Why it's different from commenting
Most recipe platforms let people leave comments like “I added more garlic and it was great.” Suggestions on RecipeVersion are structured proposals tied to specific changes — closer to a GitHub pull request than a comment thread. The author stays in control; suggestions are never applied automatically.
When to suggest vs. remix
Use Suggest Edit when you want to improve the original recipe and give the author credit for the improvement. Use Remix when you want to develop your own independent version without changing the original.
