Heat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan and line the long sides with parchment.

Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium bowl.

In a large bowl, whisk the mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until evenly combined.

Fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture just until no dry streaks remain. Do not beat the batter.

Spread the batter in the pan. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, until the loaf is deeply golden, the center springs back, and a tester comes out with a few moist crumbs but no wet batter.

Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift the loaf onto a wire rack and cool for at least 45 minutes before slicing.
