Compare Recipe Versions

RecipeVersion lets you compare any two versions of a recipe side by side, with added, removed, and changed lines highlighted — the same way developers compare code changes. No other recipe app does this.

What the comparison shows

Ingredient changes — added, removed, or adjusted quantities
Step changes — new instructions, removed steps, or reworded text
Equipment changes
The version numbers and dates for each side

Why it matters

When you're iterating on a recipe, it's easy to forget exactly what you changed between version 3 and version 5. The compare view gives you a precise, visual answer — so you can isolate the variable that made the difference.

This is especially useful for baking, where small changes in hydration or timing produce dramatically different results, and for fermentation, where batches vary over days or weeks.

How to use it

On any recipe page, click Compare versions. Select the two versions you want to compare using the dropdowns, and the diff renders immediately.
