Recipe Version History
Every time you update a recipe on RecipeVersion, the previous version is saved automatically. Nothing is overwritten. You end up with a complete timeline of your recipe's development — every ingredient change, every timing adjustment, every technique tweak.
How it works
When you edit a recipe and save, RecipeVersion creates a new version with a version number (1.0, 1.1, 2.0, etc.) and an optional change note. Your full history is always one click away from the recipe page.
What you can do with version history
- Browse every past version of a recipe
- Compare any two versions side by side to see exactly what changed
- Restore an older version if a recent change didn't work out
- Share a specific version with a direct link
Who it's for
Version history is most valuable for cooks who actively develop their own recipes — bakers tracking hydration changes across loaves, fermenters logging batch variables, or anyone who tweaks a signature dish over time and wants to know what made version 7 better than version 6.
